2 Questions Concerning Hall of Monuments and GW2 Characters
This very well may have been asked before, but I can't find anything on it.
I notice titles can be carried over to GW2. Does this mean account-based titles or character-based titles? The difference I'm imagining is, if I create a character, are the acheivements he benefits from linked to my account or to the character of my choosing? For example, if I unlock the Protector of Tyria title on my Necromancer, will any and all characters I create in GW2 benefit, or only a character / profession of my choosing? I certainly don't want to have to earn the same title on multiple characters, after all. Another more general question: in Guild Wars 2, will it be more possible to create a single character and focus on him instead of creating so many for each profession? I suppose this is a gameplay question, so answers may be limited. In Guild Wars, as a result of the way professions, skills and attributes are handed out, to maximize build effectiveness you must create multiple characters. For instance, my first character was a Necromancer. However, if one day I decided I wanted him to be a Monk, it just couldn't work out. I can't have him go out into the world, seek out the masters of the profession and discipline himself into the role of a Monk as a master over the course of years of in-game, arduous training. No, that's why I ended up making my second character: a monk. The question I'm posing here, I suppose, is: "Will characters in Guild Wars 2 have those kinds of limitations?" I ask this mainly because spanning my time over so many characters in Guild Wars really wore me down. I don't like doing the missions over and over again, and performing the same quests repeatedly just to get characters near capturable elites. Most of my characters I created during Prophecies have most of the Chapter 1 quests done; I have virtually none of the quests done from the other two chapters, as I simply have not had the time - all of my time is focused on getting all my characters to new outposts and farming gold to purchase and capture every skill in the game. (Which I'm nearing, and I will add you don't get any Monument credit for it seems, even though it's a big accomplishment to me.) I'd like to focus all my time on one character in Guild Wars 2. Can I realistically do this and still fully have the GW2 experience? |

For the RPG aspect, since this is 100s of years later, our Titles may have mixed. (close-knit adventurers? ) Quote:

(or were you talking about regular skills? No, no Title for that). Last edited by Mordakai; Jul 10, 2007 at 03:49 PM // 15:49.. |

Every skill for the profession, that is. My Necromancer has every Necromancer skill in the game, my Ranger has every Ranger skill and my Warrior has every Warrior skill. I'm getting there on my Monk, and my Ele was just recently made, but fairly close considering.
There's no title for mastering a profession, just for learning every skill on a single character. (Something I find to be an incredibly stupid waste of my time and money.) My Necromancer might be a Necromancy master, but receives no credit for it. Granted, unlocking every skill from a single profession isn't as impressive as unlocking them from all professions, but it's still a relevant accomplishment. That's why I'm wondering about being able to play just one character in GW2 - so being an Elementalist master with Warrior's Endurance won't be quite so worthless. I'd appreciate being able to move down tech trees to master skill lines or weapon masteries, or just switching primaries... something. |

Note - they haven't actually said titles carry over. They said the Hall of Monuments is upgraded depending on what titles/special weapons/etc your characters do have which unlock special things in GW2.

I suppose you could say 2 of your heroes, or their children got a little friendly under the bedsheets and their offspring inherited their stuff.
Plausible right? |
